My name is Tara Rose Weston...

I am a self-taught photographer, award winning filmmaker and photojournalist.

The first thing I tell people about myself is that I am a proud Lakota woman, enrolled in the Oglala Sioux Tribe, whom was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. I love my Lakota language, stories and culture; I have also been a powwow dancer since I was four years old and have held numerous princess titles, including Miss Oglala Nation 2009-2010.

I currently reside in my ancestral homelands of Mni Luzahan (Rapid City, SD) in the Paha Sapa (Black Hills), with my husband of thirteen years and our daughter. I can’t get enough of live music, riding motorcycles, tattoos, books, horror movies, reading Creepy Catalog and watching Bailey Sarian.
